Solutions that focus on reducing energy costs are more topical than ever. One important component is the energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings, which also includes efficient ventilation technology.
Ventilation with heat recovery can guarantee optimum air exchange while saving heating energy at the same time. In order for this to be retrofitted, a breakthrough must first be made to the outer wall. Pipes transport the outside air to a ventilation unit installed on the inside wall. Our customer’s refurbishment module consists of an installation block made of expanded polystyrene and a connection set made of expanded polypropylene. Both materials are very light and have high insulating properties. EPP is used wherever high resilience is required.
Only a core hole needs to be drilled in the outer wall to retrofit this central ventilation unit. The integrated sensor control system measures CO2, temperature and humidity in several areas of the house and controls the ventilation accordingly. In addition, an active air transfer unit determines the air quality of other rooms to be ventilated and thus ensures that air is always exchanged as required.
