Phosphorus is an important trace element. However, in excessive doses it can be harmful to the environment. For example, excessive phosphate inputs from wastewater treatment plants can lead to over-fertilization of water bodies. For this reason, there are legal requirements and limit values for the total phosphate content in bodies of water, which must be complied with and monitored by wastewater treatment plants.
The measuring stations required for this are located directly at the edge of the basin of the wastewater treatment plants. In order to achieve the required accuracy of the measurement results, the analysis units and the necessary chemicals must be installed in an insulating and protective manner. For our customer, a manufacturer of high-quality measuring stations, it was also important that the analysis units are easy to remove in order to facilitate maintenance work on site.
In close cooperation with our customer, RUCH NOVAPLAST developed a multi-part NOVAplex® housing, which was designed and manufactured to fit the individual components of the analyzer perfectly. The individual molded parts made of expanded polypropylene (EPP) are joined together after production in our assembly department by simply plugging them together. RUCH NOVAPLAST also integrates fastening elements into the housing. Chemical bags required for the measuring process are later attached to these. Recesses for cables and hoses in the EPP chassis ensure order and clarity. All components of the analyzer are thus securely stowed and held in a defined place and at the same time protected against impacts. This ensures durability and reliability.
