EPP in electric vehicles – Part 2

In January 2022, we reported on a commercial vehicle for professional green space maintenance that is 100% electrically powered. The vehicle’s robust driver’s cab consists of a frame with aluminum profiles and covers made of expanded polypropylene (EPP).

At this point, further vehicle parts were already being planned to be manufactured from EPP at RUCH NOVAPLAST. The sun visor for the passenger and driver’s side for the electric vehicle has now been successfully produced. Due to the low weight of EPP, these are very light. The driver’s side sun visor weighs approx. 120 grams, the passenger side 100 grams.

Several NOVAfeed&fix^® elements bring functionalization to the moulded parts. They enable simple and secure fastening. The vehicle manufacturer’s logo was also applied to the visible sides of the sun visors using tools.
