It is the heat that does it
NOVAweld® is the name we give to the process used to create a firmly bonded connection between the plastic components to be joined without losing the specific properties of the plastic components.
In the process of thermoplastic joining, there is no need for chemicals such as primers, bonding agents or other foreign materials. It is a single-material solution, in which particle foam is welded to particle foam at the surfaces to be joined. This achieves a reproducible and sustainable leak-tightness in casing systems. The procedure is an automated and more economical process, which enables savings in the procurement of foaming tools.
The cost saving in the moulding area is achieved by reducing the complexity of the tool-processed parts. For example, undercuts can be dissolved, which avoids sliders and saves costs. Furthermore, parts made of particle foam can be produced, which would be impossible to make by conventional means, either because of their dimensions or their geometry.
Due to the reduction of large component heights and tool complexity, the foaming process is simplified.
