Several densities in one production step
Different methods of separating the filling areas of a mould cavity enable the various materials to be separated and still foamed at the same time. The production parameters depend on the material densities used.
In a reusable container, for example, the outer part can be designed in a higher density (usually 80g/l) and hence be sturdier than the inner mountings of the components to be transported. If these are produced in a lower density (e.g. 30 g/l), the mountings are softer, thus making sensitive components scratch resistant while at the same time providing them with impact protection.
If moulded parts in the area of the impact protection are designed in two or more different densities, the impact behaviour can be influenced accordingly.
