For the reduction of sound in casings, the consideration of frequency bands is decisive. Depending on the frequency range to be optimised, combinations with other sound-damping materials are necessary, as pure EPP has limited sound absorption capabilities.

Careful planning and professional execution enable disturbing noises that may arise during the operation of a heat pump, for example, to be considerably reduced: By using EPP and combination materials, because this compound has an excellent sound-reducing effect. The heat pump compressors can be easily installed and decoupled in the EPP chassis. In addition, noise-dampening hoods surrounding complete outdoor appliances can considerably reduce the noise level.
